- First point of contact for dealing with both complaints and technical queries which are escalated from the tax and payroll seniors. Induct and train new junior tax staff including reviewing all their work and ensuring they are on track with their study plan.
- Dealing with and assisting with HMRC enquiries for both individuals and companies, with most experience in Income Tax and R&D enquiries.
- Completion and submission of voluntary disclosures to HMRC under the Let Property Campaign disclosure service and digital disclosure service for income tax disclosures.

- Monthly manager reporting to Directors -detailing work completed in the prior month, work the tax department anticipate will be completed in the current month, estimated billing for the month by the fee earners, any issues that need to be reviewed and discussed and any ongoing and incoming advisory work.
- Administrative tasks such as preparing professional clearance, engagement of new clients, AML and due diligence procedures for new and current clients, new client fee quotes, client bills, preparation of accountant’s certificates for both individuals and companies.
- Implementation of new payroll software (Bright Pay) and building a new payroll team and processes.
- Implementation of Making Tax Digital including staff training, processes, client training, meetings and quoting.
- Dealing with prospect calls and new client meetings from the initial meeting to fee proposal, staff appointment from each department required and onboarding process.
- Liaising with third party tax consultants when dealing with complex tax matters and technical queries where additional guidance is required.
- Liaising with other professional intermediaries such as solicitors and IFA’s to build solid working relationships for ongoing referrals of work.
- Ensuring the smooth running of the tax department on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the balance of work assignments, tax staff training, adherence to company processes and liaising closely with Directors to meet the needs of the business.
- Tax planning advisory work specifically in relation to remuneration planning, trust tax planning and inheritance tax planning including client meetings and written planning advice under the supervision of our Tax Director.
- Preparation and submission of Trust and Estate Tax Returns in addition to IHT returns for exit charges, principal charges and estate valuations in addition AEOI registration.
- Preparation and submission of 60-day capital gains tax disposal return for estates and individuals.
- Registration of taxable and non-taxable trusts on the Trust Registration Service which included the implementation of our internal processes to manage this.
- Submission of R&D Claims and additional information forms to enable the claims.
- Preparation of comparative calculators to review salary vs dividend or incorporation for clients that require remuneration or tax planning advice.
- Creating content for marketing and contacting clients to advise them about specific changes to legislation that may impact them such as the Trust Registration Service (TRS), furnished holiday lets, basis period reforms and MTD.

- Responsible for the analyses of a variety of tax records such as rental income and dividend vouchers; and preparing and submitting individual tax returns, P11D’s, partnership returns, NIC claims, penalties and payment arrangements.
