Job Description
About the Role
ALF Recruit are working with a growing residential developer and investor building quality homes across Greater Manchester and the North West. Scaling toward 200 homes per year by 2030.
This role is the operational engine of the finance function. You will own the financial control infrastructure that underpins growth: debt lifecycle management, project appraisal governance, lender relationships, and the reporting cadence that keeps capital moving.
You will be responsible for ensuring every site has clean funding, every covenant is tracked, every appraisal is governed, and every variance is surfaced before it becomes a problem.
What We Offer
- £35,000 – £42,000 base salary
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Employer pension contribution
- Hybrid working (1 day per week from home)
- On-site parking
- Direct exposure to a scaling developer-operator with a genuine progression path as the finance function grows
- Ownership of your domain from day one, with minimal bureaucracy in a high-trust team
- Monthly team lunches and a founder-led culture that values discipline, curiosity, and quality
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end debt application process for all SPVs – prepare application packs, coordinate pre-requisite documentation, and track applications through underwriting to drawdown
- Maintain a live covenant compliance dashboard across all active facilities: ICR, LTV, drawdown conditions, and financial reporting deadlines
- Act as the primary operational contact for all development lenders – own the lender database, track reporting obligations, and manage information requests
- Produce a weekly loan book report covering all active facilities: committed vs drawn, utilisation rates, maturity profile, and upcoming milestones
- Manage all banking administration: new SPV account openings, mandate changes, KYC/AML compliance for new entity structures
- Own the data integrity of project appraisals – act as data steward for build costs, sales values, programme timelines, and funding terms
- Establish and maintain a standardised filing and data management system, ensuring all documentation is version-controlled and audit-ready
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance, banking, or property finance role – ideally within residential development or real estate lending
- Demonstrable experience managing debt applications, facility documentation, or banking administration
- Advanced Excel proficiency: comfortable building trackers, models, and reporting templates from scratch
- Rigorous attention to detail and a methodical, process-driven approach
- Clear and concise communicator, confident dealing with lenders and external parties
- Self-starter who builds systems and thrives in a fast-moving, scaling environment
Desirable:
- Experience with SPV structures and development finance mechanics
- Background in residential property or real estate lending
