Tax Senior | £30,000 – £40,000 | Bury | Permanent
ALF Recruit are working with a well-established accountancy practice based in Bury, who are looking to add a Tax Senior to their team on a permanent basis.
This is a role for someone who wants to build a genuine career in practice within a firm where you’ll get real client exposure early on, rather than being kept at arm’s length from the work. You’ll be trusted to manage your own portfolio, working closely with partners and senior colleagues, in a practice that values technical accuracy just as much as building strong client relationships.
What you’ll get

What you’ll be doing
- Managing your own portfolio of clients, taking ownership of compliance and advisory work
- Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns
- Liaising directly with clients on their tax affairs, building long-term relationships
- Supporting partners on ad hoc tax planning and advisory matters
- Keeping up to date with tax legislation changes and applying this to client work
- Mentoring or reviewing work from junior team members as your experience grows
What we’re looking for
- Qualified or part-qualified is preferable
- Solid experience within a practice environment
- Confident managing a portfolio of clients with minimal supervision
- Strong technical grounding across personal and/or corporate tax
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career in tax, rather than just seeing out a role
