Senior Accountant / Client Portfolio Manager
Job Description
Our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Bury, is looking to strengthen its team with the appointment of a Senior Accountant/Client Portfolio Manager. This role has arisen due to continued growth in the client base, and the successful candidate will report directly to the Practice Partners.
This is a client-facing, portfolio-led role suited to someone who enjoys ownership and variety — managing a broad mix of clients, building strong relationships, and taking responsibility for the full accounts process from start to finish.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂‘𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁
- Salary of £35,000–£45,000 (dependent on experience)
- One per week WFH
- Early finish Fridays
- Study support where relevant

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂‘𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴
- Managing your own portfolio of clients from start to finish
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
- Acting as a key point of contact for client queries and relationship management
- Liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies on clients’ behalf
- Supporting junior team members and reviewing their work where required
- Identifying opportunities to add value for clients
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲‘𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿
- ACA/ACCA Part qualified / qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Previous experience within a practice environment
- Audit experience desirable
- Experience preparing charity accounts advantageous
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work to deadlines
