We’re working with a highly respected Legal 500 recognised law firm that is looking to recruit a Graduate Legal Assistant to join their specialist Information Governance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is looking for a professional career with genuine development and long-term progression within a legal environment.
Whether you’ve studied Law, Psychology, Business Management, Criminology, English, History or another degree, if you’re analytical, organised and enjoy problem-solving, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll receive full training and be involved in meaningful client work from day one, supporting schools, academies and public sector organisations with Data Protection, Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
This is a fully office-based role located on the outskirts of Rochdale.

The Role
As a Graduate Legal Assistant, you’ll become part of a specialist Information Governance team responsible for supporting clients with Data Protection matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing, analysing and redacting documents for Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
- Drafting professional correspondence and legal documentation
- Supporting the wider Data Protection team with live client matters
- Building strong relationships with clients across the education and public sectors
- Managing your own workload while working to strict service standards and deadlines
- Handling confidential and sensitive information with accuracy and professionalism
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A recent graduate or due to graduate this year in any degree discipline
- Interested in developing a long-term career within the legal sector
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- A confident written and verbal communicator
- Analytical, methodical and enjoys working with information
- Professional, reliable and able to handle confidential information
A law degree is not essential. We welcome applications from graduates across a wide range of disciplines including Psychology, Business Management, Criminology, English, History and other related subjects.
