ALF Recruit is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a well-established SME manufacturer in Oldham to recruit a Financial Controller into a genuinely pivotal role within the business.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who wants ownership. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and leading a team of three, you’ll run the finance function day to day and have a real say in how the business is run. - ยฃ60,000 โ ยฃ70,000 depending on experience

This is a business that makes things and makes them well. They’ve built a solid reputation over many years and they’re at the point where they want a proper finance lead in place someone who can bring control, insight and a commercial eye to support the next phase. You won’t be a small cog in a big machine here. Working closely alongside the Managing Director and leading an established team of three, you’ll be the finance person, trusted to run things properly and give the leadership team the numbers they need to make good decisions.

- Ownership of the month-end process, management accounts and reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Business partnering with the Managing Director, providing commercial insight
- Leading and developing a finance team of three
- Cost analysis and margin work specific to a manufacturing environment
- Driving improvements in processes, controls and systems

- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), though we’ll always consider a strong qualified-by-experience candidate for this role
- Manufacturing or industry experience you understand stock, cost and margin
- Someone comfortable leading from the front while staying hands-on
- Strong systems and Excel skills, and the confidence to improve what’s in front of them
- A commercial head, not just a technical one
