About the Role
Our client, a well-established manufacturing business, is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead their finance function. This is a hands-on role combining day-to-day transactional finance with responsibility for accurate, timely reporting into the wider group. It would suit someone who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves on transactional processes and presenting management accounts at a senior level.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the transactional finance function, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for submission to directors and the parent company, in line with group timetables and formats
- Own the month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle
- Monitor cash flow and working capital, reporting risks and issues to the parent company where relevant
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, VAT regulations, and other statutory requirements
- Act as the main point of liaison with external auditors and support the year-end audit process
- Review and improve finance processes and controls within the business
- Manage and develop a direct report within the transactional finance team
- Maintain working relationships with operational stakeholders across the site to support finance and business decision-making
Person Specification
- Experience operating within a group/parent company reporting structure
- Strong working knowledge of transactional finance processes, not limited to review or oversight level
- Experience within a manufacturing or similarly operational business is desirable
- Able to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
