Job Description
At ALF, we are currently looking to recruit a Credit Controller/ role on behalf of our client a successful business win a varied and hands-on role. Working alongside the Finance Manager and company Directors, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer accounts are maintained accurately, payments are reconciled efficiently, and outstanding balances are followed up promptly.
With around 800 active accounts at any given time, we are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident handling a high volume of transactions.

Role Overview:
This role will suit someone who enjoys working with numbers and has a natural ability to build rapport with clients. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day credit control activities, manage incoming payments, and assist with the broader financial administration of the company. You’ll also be involved in assessing new account applications and working with external partners to manage credit insurance where required.
Key Duties Will Include:
- Recording and allocating incoming payments across multiple methods
- Investigating and resolving account queries and discrepancies
- End-of-day cashing up and preparing weekly banking reconciliations
- Maintaining client ledgers and ensuring they reflect accurate, up-to-date balances
- Supporting invoice processing and issuing monthly statements
- Managing debt collection through regular client contact
- Monitoring overdue accounts and assisting with the escalation process, including legal referrals
- Reviewing credit applications and liaising with insurers regarding account approvals
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a credit control or finance role is essential
- Confident communicator with a proactive and professional approach to credit control
- Strong reconciliation skills and attention to financial detail
- Comfortable working independently and prioritising a busy workload
