Our client, a successful and growing accountancy practice based in Bury, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their expanding team. This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth and increased client demand. You will have a proven track record in Bookkeeping and ideally AAT Qualified. This role will be a mixture of working from home, office and client visits.

The Role
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, ensuring their bookkeeping and accounts are maintained accurately and efficiently. This means handling all day-to-day accounting tasks, supporting clients with financial queries, and working independently while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Manage purchase and sales ledgers, raising and entering invoices (Sage/Xero)
- Process sales and purchase orders (Sage/Xero)
- Bank reconciliations and VAT returns
- Process small monthly payrolls (Sage/Xero)
- Ensure all bookkeeping tasks meet deadlines and client expectations
- Produce accounts to trial balance stage (beneficial)
- Maintain accurate client records and enter data in a timely manner
- Build strong, effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
Skills & Experience
- AAT qualified
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident working offsite with clients
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Driving licence (role involves client visits)
