We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Oldham for a Part Qualified Assistant Accountant. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analyse financial data and investigate variances.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other control accounts.
- Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements.
- Support the purchase and sales ledger functions when required.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects and process improvements.
About You
- Part Qualified AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification.
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- A positive, proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
- Keen to continue developing professionally and progress within a finance career.
